An interesting and useful science information resource

One of the topics of this blog is my recommendation of resources that offer a different perspective on science. What makes The Conversation different? It’s not a mass news medium. Nope, but it is an independent, non-profit news organization. What makes it different is that its articles are written by academics, typically faculty. These are the very people who serve as science sources for the mass news media. Instead of providing quotes and information for news articles written by journalists, the authors write for your unmediated, direct consumption. This is expert straight to reader. Yes, staff at The Conversation provide some editing, and the articles are vetted for appropriateness, etc. However, these articles are not written by journalists, independent or otherwise.

Science news and information is only a portion of the medium’s portfolio. It also covers politics, current events, economy, the arts, etc. I encourage you to give The Conversation a try.
